June is my birthday month and so it is one of the best! Weather starts getting hotter and so for this itinerary I wanted to add a water activity! Whether you're visiting for the weekend or looking to enjoy a day out in Richmond, this one-day itinerary is packed with local gems, neighborhood charm, and plenty of good vibes along the way.

🧃 9:30 AM – Start with Smoothie Bowls at North End Juice Co.
Fuel up with something light, fresh, and delicious. North End Juice Co. in the Museum District serves up colorful smoothie bowls, fresh-pressed juices, and good vibes.

🛶 10:30 AM – Kayak/Paddleboard at Huguenot Flatwater
June is a great time to get out on the water. Huguenot Flatwater is a great spot (especially for beginners) to kayak or paddleboard. The water is super flat and the current is easily navigable. Plus, there is a parking lot.

🥪 12:00 PM – Grab Lunch/Picnic at Garnett’s Cafe
Head over to Garnett's Cafe for a cozy lunch in a vintage setting OR take your meal to go as a "picnic". Garnett's has a picnic option where they give you your meal in a picnic basket with a blanket (just make sure to return it!). Head over to Meadows Park across the street and enjoy a picnic.

🪦 1:30 PM – Drive/Walk through Hollywood Cemetery
Hollywood Cemetery is one of my favorite spots in Richmond. This cemetery was designed in 1847 as a rural-style garden cemetery - which means it was designed to be beautiful and as a park. People in the 1800s wanted to escape the city and the bad air, and so this cemetery was built as an escape. And it is GORGEOUS! The views of the river and downtown, plus the old gravestones make it a must-stop.
*If you want to know EVEN MORE about Richmond, VA (where to live, what to do, best restaurants, etc) I recommend getting my Ultimate Guide to Richmond, Virginia here:👇
🏛️ 3:00 PM – Visit Virginia War Memorial
This memorial is a combination of a memorial, museum and education center. It features exhibits including artifacts, photographs & films that chronicle Virginia's role in American military history.
🍝 4:30 PM – Early dinner at Edo's Squid
Enjoy an early dinner at the casual Italian spot Edo's Squid. They have tons of antipasti and pasta options (including some vegan ones too!).

⛳️ 6:00 PM – Play Mini Golf at Hotel Greene
This is one of the coolest and most unique things to do in Richmond. Hotel Greene is a mini indoor golf course designed like a 1930's hotel. There are also snacks and a full bar available. $16 per person, per golf round.

🍦 7:30 PM – Ice Cream at Scoop
Love Scoop because they are open every day until 10pm or later. Also they have tons of options for vegans - including at least 2 flavors, cookies, hot fudge and sprinkles.
🏡 8:00 PM – Walk around The Fan
Scoop is located on Strawberry Street, which is an adorable area of The Fan and makes it a great spot to walk around while enjoying your ice cream.
