🌸 Top 5 Spring Things to Do in Richmond, Virginia

Springtime in Richmond is just amazing! Flowers are blooming, the patios are popping, and the city’s full of events and experiences that make you fall in love with RVA all over again.

Whether you're a local or new to town, here are 5 must-do spring activities in and around Richmond.

If you'd like to watch the YouTube video, you can here:👇

🏛️ 1. Stroll Through Shakespearean Gardens at Agecroft Hall & Gardens

Step into a literal time machine and explore this 16th-century English manor home that was shipped from England and rebuilt in Windsor Farms neighborhood. The gardens explode with color in spring, especially in the sunken tulip gardens. It's peaceful, gorgeous, and gives major Bridgerton vibes.

💡Pro tip: Bring a book and snack, this is the kind of place where time slows down.

🎨 2. Take a Hands-On Ceramics Class at Crane & Clover Retreat

Ready to tap into your artsy side? This dreamy creative space just outside Richmond in Goochland County has so many cool workshops. Surrounded by countryside views, you’ll be able to handcraft ceramics and pick lovely flowers.

🌺 3. See the Frida: Beyond the Myth Exhibit at the VMFA

This just-opened exhibit is a total must-see. This exhibit dives into her life and legacy through an intimate lens that goes beyond the iconic flower crown self portraits. Expect gorgeous artwork, fascinating personal items, and serious creative inspiration. Perfect for a cloudy spring day when you want to be indoors.

🍷 4. Sip Rosé with a View at Early Mountain Vineyards

Just 1.5 hours from RVA, this Charlottesville-area vineyard is a spring dream. Think lush mountain views, warm breezes, and sips of award-winning wine on a sunny patio. Their seasonal menu is vegan-friendly and pairs perfectly with a crisp glass of rosé or their bold cab franc. It’s the perfect excuse for a weekend day trip. We love it here!

👟 5. Run (or Cheer!) the Monument Avenue 10K

Even if you’re not a runner, the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10K is a rite of spring in Richmond. This iconic race brings thousands to the city’s most scenic street, Monument Ave. and it’s like a giant block party. Costumes, cheer squads, music, and all-around good vibes make this the most fun 6.2 miles in Virginia. Run it, walk it, cheer from the sidelines.

Spring in Richmond is truly something special. It’s the kind of season that makes you want to be outside admiring the colors all the time, come out of your Winter hibernation, and say yes to all the plans. It is truly my favorite time of year!
