This was our 6th time in Amsterdam and can tell you for sure, the vegan food here is amazing! It is such an aesthetically pleasing city and the fact that it has good food bumps it to the top of our list on cities to visit!
Here is a list of some of our favorites:
This is an organic vegan bakery in the Jordaan district near the Anne Frank House. Everything here is fair-trade and sustainably sourced. I got the pumpkin spice latte, which was just the right amount of sweet, and Lukas got a flat white. We decided to take our lunch to a bench outside to enjoy the canal view. Lukas got the salami toastie and I got the crispy tofu sandwich. We went a little crazy and also got a tahini bun, tahini cookie, and chocolate chip cookie. Everything tasted incredible, so much so that we went back 2 more times. I highly recommend stopping by!
This is a 100% Plant-Based Japanese restaurant in Amsterdam, but this isn't your typical restaurant. Here they don't serve "soup ramen", they serve "sauce ramen"! You stir up the sauce with your noodles and toppings and WHOA you have a really tasty meal! Reservations are absolutely required, as this is a small spot, but let me tell you - it is worth it!
This place is very cool. First of all it has a lot of vegan options in their menu, but most importantly it has the most epic views of Amsterdam! Located on the 3rd floor of this building, you can see out and admire Amsterdam's architecture while enjoying some food and drinks. To get these special chairs, make sure to request when you get a reservation. Although quite touristy, their food was still tasty! We got the jackfruit bitterballen (Dutch snack), veggie spring rolls and the tofu scramble.
One word: cruffin. Come here for the cruffins! Holy smokes, they stuff the center with tons and tons of jam and top it off with cream. I've never enjoyed anything more than this - oh wait, their pain au chocolat was absolute fire. Ok, everything here is amazing and 100% vegan. I also got a chai latte and it was also tasty. make sure to pop in for some baked goodies.
5. Vegabond (Since has permantly closed)
This is an all vegan grocery store and deli. What I love about this concept is that you can walk into one of these and literally can buy anything without needing to look at the label. I found a lot of groceries here too like kombucha, vegan chocolate bars, sausage rolls, and most importantly - vegan stroopwafel (a Dutch snack).
This is another all vegan restaurant with vegan twists on American classics. Personally we weren't that impressed, but we are a hard sell being American and having access to some really delicious vegan food back home. Vegan burgers in Europe have never been that great for us, so maybe we didn't order the best choice on the menu. That being said, I still recommend it as some find it quite tasty.
This was another of our favorite spots in Amsterdam and also another 100% plant-based bakery and cafe. We enjoyed a turmeric chai latte, cappuccino, croissant, and an oyster mushroom sandwich. Everything we had was a 10/10. The service here is great and there are so many options, definitely stop by!
