Chic's Beach, VA: Perfect 2-Day Itinerary

If you're looking for a quick coastal escape that’s heavy on the good vibes and good eats, let me introduce you to a two-day itinerary that brings the beach bliss. We’re talking local coffee shops, fresh ocean air, birthday dinners, and laid-back beach times. Welcome to Chic's Beach - let’s go!

If you'd like to watch the video of my full trip, you can here:👇

🌊 Day One: Easy Arrival + Beachy Vibes:

Lunch at Pelon’s Baja Grill

📍 738 W 22nd St #15, Norfolk, VA 23517 We kicked things off with tacos at Pelon’s, one of our go-to spots for casual, Mexican food. They have a huge vegan menu and tons of options for everyone, plus they have several locations around Virginia Beach.

Coffee Break at Three Ships Coffee

No weekend adventure is complete without coffee, and Three Ships delivers every single time. This local gem serves up beautifully crafted espresso drinks and cozy beach-town charm, plus they do decaf and great merch! Plus they have several locations around Virginia Beach. Or you could head to Kobros Coffee nearby.

3pm: Check-In to your Hotel or Airbnb

We made our way to our Airbnb and settled into our home base for the weekend - just a short stroll from Chic’s Beach. (Highly recommend picking a spot walkable to the water. It’s worth it.)

Here is the link to the 2-bedroom house we stayed at: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/33858417

Hanging out at Chic’s Beach

Once we unpacked a bit, we headed straight to Chic’s Beach. It’s quieter than the Oceanfront and perfect for a sunset stroll or just posting up with your toes in the sand and a book in hand.

Dinner at Home

After a travel day, there’s something so comforting about staying in and having dinner at your cozy Airbnb. We kept it simple and made some burgers and fries.

🥳 Day Two: Birthday Beach Day & Celebrations:

Breakfast at Session

This spot is a whole vibe. Session serves up breakfast and brunch that’s both nourishing and delicious. The breakfast burrito is amazing and don’t sleep on their smoothie bowls. We fueled up for a day in the sun!

(Another) Coffee Stop at Three Ships

Yes, again. Because once is never enough. Grab a second round (you earned it), maybe try something iced this time. This is Lukas' favorite coffee shop in Virginia Beach.

Beach Day at Chic’s

We packed up snacks, beach towels, and birthday energy and set up camp at Chic’s Beach. It’s the perfect place for a low-key, locals-style beach day. There’s just something magic about reading, relaxing, and dipping your toes in the Chesapeake Bay.

Lunch on the Beach

We packed a beach picnic - think fresh fruit, wraps, chips, and sparkling water, so we could enjoy the beach for hours.

Dinner at Esoteric

Ohhh yes. For the big birthday dinner, we headed to Esoteric, a delicious spot with locally sourced fare and one of the best cocktail menus in town. It’s cozy, it’s creative, and it’s the perfect place for your last night.

Drinks at the Historic Cavalier Hotel

To wrap it all up in style, we headed to the iconic Cavalier Hotel for a nightcap. Whether you’re sipping champagne or enjoying a craft cocktail at the Raleigh Room, this place oozes old-school glamour and modern charm. It’s the perfect end to a perfect day.

Virginia Beach is such a dreamy, underrated gem, especially when you explore the more local side like Chic’s Beach. This trip was all about easy breezy vibes, amazing local eats, and celebrating life with sand between our toes. Whether you’re planning a birthday trip, a weekend with friends, or just a quick reset by the water, save this itinerary for later!
