A Roman Amphitheater in Croatia?!

Did you know Croatia had Roman Ruins like this?! This arena was constructed in 27BC😱 & the only Roman amphitheater to have all four side towers entirely preserved! It was used for Gladiator fights until the 5th century, when it became forbidden. (Gladiators were entertainers that fought animals and each other to the death) Right after gladiator combats were forbidden, people started taking the stones from the seating area for their own use. Even in 1709, stones were taken from the arena to build the bell tower at the Pula Cathedral! Now it’s used for concerts, movies and ice hockey games! We had so much fun exploring this amphitheater...

🖤You all know how much I love historical places.
