Bifana is a Portuguese Steak sandwich. I made this vegan version & it tasted amazing!!✨⠀ Here this is a sandwich to eat late night after partying or as a dessert after a large seafood dinner. ⠀
Recipe:⠀ 2 cups Oyster Mushrooms⠀
Marinade:⠀ 3 garlic cloves, minced⠀ 1/2 lemon, juiced⠀ 2 TB soy sauce⠀ 2 TB balsamic vinegar⠀ 1 bay leaf⠀
Garnish:⠀ 1 TB parsley, chopped⠀ Toppings:⠀ Spinach⠀ Tomato, chopped⠀ Vegan Mayo⠀ Red onion, chopped⠀ avocado, sliced⠀ 2 bread buns ⠀ ⠀ 1. Add all marinade ingredients to a dish then mix.⠀ 2. Place all oyster mushrooms in marinade and let soak for minimum 20 minutes.⠀ 3. To a pan, add a sprinkle of olive oil then lay down the oyster mushrooms like steaks.⠀ 4. Allow mushrooms to cook on both sides until brown.⠀ 5. Then add in the rest of the marinade and cook down.⠀ 6. Garnish with chopped parsley while still in the pan and gently stir in.⠀ 7. You can serve the steaks plain in a sandwich or add any toppings of choice.⠀
