Portobello Mushroom Burgers recipe

These are a family favorite. My mom has me make these a few times a month for her! With the marinade and the toppings, this burger will be your family's favorite too.



Servings: 4


Ingredients:

4 large mushroom caps

4 toasted buns


Marinade:

2 TB Liquid smoke

1/4 cup Soy sauce

2 TB cup Olive oil

1/4 cup Balsamic vinegar


Toppings:

1/8 sweet onion, sliced

1 large tomato, sliced

avocado, sliced

vegan cheese slices

Lettuce


Instructions:

  1. Take off the stem and wash your mushroom caps.

  2. Prepare the marinade by adding everything to a measuring cup and mixing.

  3. Face the caps gills up and pour the marinade onto them. Allow to marinade for 1 hour minimum.

  4. Start up your grill and add the caps gills up, cook on low/medium heat for 7 minutes. Then turn your mushroom caps over and add any leftover marinade on top and cook for an additional 7 minutes or until it starts to brown.

  5. Assemble your burger the way you like. Enjoy!
