These are AMAZING. If you want a burger made from whole foods, this is the one! It tastes and looks just like the meat version. It's even juicy! This recipe is from my eBook Vegan Around the World.
*Makes 4 Burgers*
1/2 cup walnut halves
1/2 cup portobello mushrooms, diced
1/2 cup brown rice
1/4 cup oats
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tsp soy sauce
2 TB vegan mayo
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp chili powder
salt & pepper to taste
Put all ingredients into a food processor and pulse until well combined. If too dry, add a little water.
Form burger patties with your hands.
Add to a hot skillet or grill. Cook 5 minutes on medium heat each side for stove top (or until browned) or 7 minutes each side on low heat on a grill.
