I was thinking about comparison today. I realized it doesn’t really make sense. Meaning I look at a fashion influencer or travel influencer or interiors influencer’s pictures and immediately think my photos look like absolute garbage. I’m not in the perfectly curated outfit, my nails aren’t done, the location of my picture is just OK and I go into full panic mode. ⠀ ⠀ But then I realize; wait. That’s not me. I’m not an influencer of any of those things. I only own a few clothes and don’t have room in our suitcase to pack more. I don’t fly to destinations because they have insane Instagramable spots. I don’t care to find the absolutely best decorated Airbnbs to book. I don’t make a living off my Instagram or YouTube account because of any of those things. So why would I compare myself to them? I’m just...me. ⠀ ⠀ I’m sharing shirts with a dude, my nails will never be done, I haven’t had a real hair cut in months, we travel to places for way different reasons, & we stick to a small budget. I find joy in conversation, in singing birds, in sunlight touching my face, in warm tea, in historical facts, in epic ceilings, in so many random things. I can’t compare myself to others because I’m uniquely me. And you’re uniquely you. ⠀ ⠀ So in conclusion to these random thoughts, that may not even make any sense - Let’s keep doing what brings us happiness & find the absolute joy in being ourselves because comparison just doesn’t make sense.
