Badii Palace in Marrakech

This is Badii Palace. In the 16th century Sultan Ahmed al-Mansour decorated it with gold, turquoise and crystal. 75 years later the palace was looted and now today, only remnants remain. ⠀

Considered a jewel of Islamic art, it’s construction was influenced by the Alhambra in Granada, Spain! Crazy because we were just there. I love how connected Spain & Morocco are. Feels like a full-circle for our travels. ⠀
