5 Things to Do Springfield, Illinois ☀️
Springfield is the capital of Illinois, but it doesn’t feel that way. It has a small town feel with many notable sights, most of them having to do with Abraham Lincoln and his time living here. I highly recommend visiting if you're a history buff and want to see some historical architecture.

Here are 5 Things to Do in Springfield👇:
1. Lincoln’s Home
If you ever wanted to see inside Abraham Lincoln's house, well now is your chance! This home was built in 1860 and restored to it's original appearance. Tickets are free to see this awesome house museum and are given first come, first serve with a tour every 30 minutes. Open 9-5 daily.

2. Old State Capital
Completed in 1840 and in Greek Revival style, this is where Abraham Lincoln tried many cases in this building's supreme court. He also gave his famous speech "A house divided against his house cannot stand" in 1858. Come inside and see the interiors that are frozen in time to the 1800s. Tickets are free and they do have tours. Open 9-5 daily.

3. Dana Thomas House
If you're a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, you have to tour one of his best! Designed for socialite Susan Lawrence Dana in 1902, with 35 rooms and 16 varying levels, it is a sight to be seen! Tours are at 9:30am, 11:00am, 1:30pm, and 3:30pm M-F. 4. Lincoln’s Presidential Library
Inside this impressive library is a reproduction of what the White House looked like in 1861 when Abraham Lincoln became president. Also inside is a handwritten copy of the Gettysburg address and the pen that signed the Emancipation Proclamation. It has a walk through of Abraham Lincoln's life, which gives great insight into the 16th president of the US. Tickets are $15 and open 9-5 daily.

5. Lincoln’s Tomb
Visit the historical Calvary cemetery where Lincoln is buried. His monument was completed in 1874. Go inside the tomb where you can see Lincoln, his sons, and wife Mary are buried. It's free to visit and open 9-5pm daily.
